About Us:

Terry Reed

I was born in England in 1964 and move to Canada with my family in 1974. I graduated from high school in 1981.

In 1994 I went back to school for Sports and Life Style Management, where I studied kinesiology, anatomy, cardio physiology and nutrition. Also in 1994 I met my wife, now of 10 years, at a law firm called Cassels Brock & Blackwell. This job was paying for my schooling. In 2001 Sheila and I decided to move to the U.SA. She wanted to move home to Pensacola. And I, well I did not want to shovel anymore snow. While down here in 2001 after we decided to move here I saw a sign for massage therapy being offered at the Pensacola School of Massage Therapy. So we decided what we wanted was our own business in massage we had both had massages before and realized the benefits of it I also thought it would compliment all of my prior training. I applied in 2001 to become a landed immigrant and in 2003 I was granted the honor. There was a year separation between Sheila and I in 2002 - 2003 when Sheila moved down on her own to get things started i.e. job and buying a house.

I graduated from Pensacola School of Massage Therapy and passed the national exam in June of 2004. I stated working with West Florida Back & Neck with Dr. Berthiaume treating his patients who had been hurt in car accidents or workman compensation cases in December of 04. I also work with Spinal Aid Centers of America working with patients with sciatica bulging and herniated disk. Sheila and I now have reached our goal by opening Southern Touch Therapeutic Massage Center, L.L.C. where we are looking forward to many years of serving you.

Sheila Reed

I was born in Birmingham, Alabama in 1960. My parents moved our family to Pensacola, in 1961. The high school I attended was Woodham High between 1975 and 1979. When I married in 1979 my husband and I moved to Brooksville, Florida, where we lived until we divorced in 1987. At that time I moved to Toronto, Canada with my two children and remarried. Shortly after moving to Toronto, I attended Toronto School of Business for a Legal Secretary course, and began working in the legal field in May of 1989. Before leaving Toronto I worked with two law firms as a Legal Secretary from 1989 to 2002.

In May of 2001 my Mother passed away. While my husband and I were in Pensacola for her funeral, we began discussing moving to Pensacola. On the drive back to Toronto we discussed changing our field of work to massage therapy and eventually opening a massage center in Pensacola. We began immediately working towards our goals of accomplishing this.

I moved to Pensacola in July of 2002 and in September 2002 began working as a Legal Assistant with Beggs & Lane until February 2005. In the early part of 2005 I enrolled in a Massage Therapy night course offered by PJC which did not begin until January 2006. In December 2006 I graduated with honors. In 2007 I completed other required courses through PJC in order for my transcripts to be forwarded to the Florida Department of Massage. Once my transcripts were forwarded to them in April 2007, I applied to write the exam to become a Licensed Massage Therapist. In November 2007 I received my license. I am Florida licensed, nationally certified and insured.

At this time I currently work with Dr. Peter Smith at Smith's Chiropractic Center and Dr. Dana Berthiaune at West Florida Back & Neck, where I practice medical massage.

My main interest in massage is relaxation, medical massage and barefoot shiatsu.
